His first master his “master of life” Marco Moreira introduced Joe to Judo and Jiu Jitsu at 5 years of age.
At 7 years of age he was already competing Judo representing Master Jorge Medhi and Master Jomar Carneiro
In 1989 Joe Moreira left his home town of Leme , Rio de Janeiro Brasil, and Arrived in Corona Del Mar, California , USA.
On Thu, Feb 15, 1996 U.F.C 8 and on Sat, Jul 26, 1997 Joe Moreira fought U.F.C. 14 Representing Master Marco Ruas in RVT.
He has fought in multiple UFC events, is an Judo Olympic trialist, and an early pioneer of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, to the USA originating back in 1990.
At 17 years he earned his Black Belt under Mastre Francisco Mansor and Reylson Gracie.
With more than 55 years of dedication to the study of martial arts, Master Joe has achieved an 8th degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coral belt , 4th Degree Judo Black Belt, an Original Ruas Vale Tudo Black Belt
